In this exclusive interview, the former Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Nasir El-Rufai, outlines PERL-ARC’s contribution to governance and service delivery improvements in Kaduna State. In his words “We (Kaduna State) have introduced a high level of rational planning. Kaduna State’s Development Plan (2016 to 2020) was prepared with the support of FCDO, the British government also supported us in preparing the Sector Implementation Plans that drew from the State Development Plan, this put us in a good state for the World Bank to give us a $350 million loan for economic restructuring. PERL and other FCDO programs have been very instrumental in the design and implementation of key reforms not only in public service, but also improving the business environment, economic planning, tax reforms and public finance reform. It has been a great partnership, and we have benefited a lot. We hope the next administration will continue to engage and draw from this quality of advice and technical support.”
