Kano State Secretary to the State Government tasks New Permanent Secretaries with responsibilities to achieve next-level agenda

The Executive Governor of Kano State, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Usman Alhaji, has urged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in Kano State to love their jobs, have courage and integrity, and bring innovation into their job in order to achieve the next-level agenda of the government.

 

The SSG made this remark during the two-day Retreat for Permanent Secretaries, organized by the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Kano State, in collaboration with the DFID funded Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) in Abuja.

 

The retreat which commenced on June 21, 2019 is aimed at assisting the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to deliver on their key performance indicators, as set by the State Government.

 

“If we don’t want to get the same results over and over; if we want to tap into the next level agenda, we must have courage, innovation and integrity”, said the SSG.

 

Alhaji Usman also thanked DFID and PERL for not only supporting the Retreat for Permanent Secretaries, but also for supporting reforms in Kano State over and over.

 

   
     
 

The retreat was attended by the Kano State Head of Civil Service, Dr Kabir Shehu; DFID Kano Regional Coordinator, Hajiya Nafisa Ado; PERL’s National Programme Manager, Ifeanyi Peters Ugwuoke; Permanent Secretaries of Kano State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs); and Directors, Planning of selected MDAs.
