The Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) held a three-day Technical Review Retreat for Delivery Managers and Ministries’ Desk Officers, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from Monday, 21st to Friday, 25th June 2021. It was facilitated to finalise and validate the Results Framework and Performance Data for tracking the nine priority areas of the Federal Government.

The retreat, which held in collaboration with the Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) programme, builds on the Bilateral Meetings with the Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and top management staff of 28 Federal Ministries and the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to advance operationalisation of the Results Framework. The bilateral meetings provided the opportunity to negotiate and agree appropriate performance measures with the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). This formed the basis for the Q4-2020 and Q1-2021 performance assessments.

As part of an ongoing capacity strengthening process, PERL provided technical support to the retreat as a means to build the capacity of the CDCU to manage and drive delivery of government priorities. The support was aimed at helping to foster understanding of the processes and tools being deployed, promoting collaboration among the MDAs, and providing an avenue for the MDAs to complete and validate the Results Framework and Performance Data collated for the period in view.

The CDCU was set up on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari, to coordinate the activities of the MDAs towards the delivery of the Federal Government’s Nine Priorities, through tracking and reporting of performance against the Ministerial Mandates and outcome level results.

The Nine Priorities of the government cover economy, agriculture, energy, transportation, infrastructure, industrialization, education, healthcare, security, anti-corruption, governance, poverty reduction and social inclusion; and are specified in the ministerial mandates signed by respective Ministers and their Permanent Secretaries.
